Cycling repair workshop app

Taking the effort out of bike maintenance

MiBike approached us with an ambitious vision: to revolutionise the cycling industry through a comprehensive mobile application. They sought to create a platform that would seamlessly connect cyclists, bike shops, and manufacturers in a unified ecosystem. The app needed to offer features such as bike registration, maintenance tracking, service booking, and integration withpopular cycling apps. Additionally, MiBike wanted to incorporate innovative elements like part wear prediction, custom bike fitting data, and even a global bike hire system. The challenge was to design an intuitive interface that could handle this complex array of features while remaining user-friendly for both consumers and industry professionals.

Our design team crafted a modular, scalable app architecture to accommodate MiBike's extensive feature set. We developed a clean, intuitive user interface that guides cyclists through bike registration, maintenance scheduling, and performance tracking. For workshops and retailers, we created a robust backend system for managing appointments, quoting repairs, and updating bike information in real-time.

Key innovations included:

  • A predictive maintenance algorithm using ride data from integrated apps

  • A visual bike builder for easy part logging and replacement tracking

  • A marketplace connecting users with local shops and global part inventories

We also implemented a tiered access system, allowing different user types (cyclists, shop owners, manufacturers) to interact with the app's features relevant to their needs. The result is a comprehensive platform poised to transform the cycling industry by fostering connectivity and streamlining operations across the entire ecosystem.
