Poetry By Heart

AI images creation

Each year, we’re commissioned by Poetry By Heart to create a series imagery for their annual calendars and posters, distributed to schools across the UK, and we create a selection of these using AI tools. Each poem brings its own atmosphere, ambiguity, and emotional undercurrent, which needs to be expressed individually.

Together with PBH, we explore how these poems might exist visually — not as literal interpretations, but as fragments of a mood. The aim is always to preserve a sense of the otherworldly, leaving just enough unsaid for students to form their own mental pictures.

We used a mix of AI tools including Firefly, Kling, Midjourney and Photoshop to create these images.

If the thread doesn't burn

The fog came up with the tide,

With a little Blue Devil inside."
