Poetry By Heart

Brand creation, activation, and competition web platform

When Poetry By Heart first began over ten years ago, we were there from the start — helping shape its identity and digital home. What began as an idea to inspire young people to discover poetry through speaking it out loud has grown into a nationwide celebration of expression. We created the brand and built the website that anchors it all: a space where students explore curated timeline anthologies to find the poems that speak to them, teachers guide their entries and upload performances, and judges review each video through a bespoke system we designed specifically for the competition. Every year, those journeys from classrooms across the country meet on one stage — the Grand Finale at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre on London’s South Bank. Each year’s competition reminds us how powerfully a poem can connect hearts, voices, and generations.
